Alpaca Poo
Did you know alpacas make their own ‘poo piles’? They are not like horses or other livestock who just deposit anywhere they are standing.

We can provide 10kg (approx) bags for $3 each. We can deliver in some local areas. Please email with your details including contact phone number to see if order can be filled and whether pickup is necessary or if we are able to deliver. Alternatively phone 03 6248 4434 and leave a message if call is unanswered.

Paca Poo is great for the garden. Good soil health will reduce disease and pest problems. Alpacas are nature’s composters. Alpacas have an efficient digestive system. They do not give any seeds the opportunity to germinate. Alpaca poo does not have to be aged or cured as it does not ‘burn’ the plants it comes in contact with.

Alpaca manure is lower in organic matter content than the manure from most other livestock (cows, horses, goats, and sheep), but still has enough to improve soil texture and water-holding capacity. This lower organic content allows alpaca manure to be spread directly onto plants without burning them. It is the decomposition of organic matter content of the manure that indicates their efficient digestion system. The nitrogen and potassium content of alpaca poo is comparatively high, an indication of good fertiliser value. Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are the major plant nutrients, being the familiar N-P-K on fertiliser bags. The N:P:K ratio is 1.5:0.2:1.1. Phosphorus is relatively low as in most livestock manure. The calcium and magnesium content is about average. Our alpacas are kept parasite free!

For seedlings, use an alpaca tea. Mix ⅓ cup alpaca pellets with ⅔ cup of water, and let it sit from 3 hours to overnight before applying. I find this is also a great way to make one’s own liquid fertiliser which is great for the vegetable garden.

Paca Poo is great for roses, vegetables, fruit trees snd any type of plant or flowers.
